Get Out of Here!: Vacation Deficit Disorder

January's Free Class

Overdoing it slightly over the holidays? Start the New Year with a cleanse designed to clean your liver, digestion, kidneys, and blood… gentle and yet enormously effective…  A cleanse is designed to help your body eliminate excessive chemicals, toxins, and wastes – things that age you faster, prevent your body from healing, sap your energy, and are linked to serious diseases like cancer. Results can be dramatic – we’ve seen physical changes, like skin and hair looking better, losing weight, improved energy and sleep, as well as eliminated joint pain, improved digestion, and improvements in medical blood tests for cholesterol, liver enzymes and hormones.

If there was ONE THING we recommend that people do for their overall long-term health, it is to do a comprehensive cleanse every 6 months. We feel strongly that it is enormously effective in helping to prevent or manage many “larger” illnesses like cancer, autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalances, addictions (including sugar addictions), and allergies.

Please call us if you have questions or are considering doing a cleanse  - and attend our free class on cleanses in January!

You can test for this at home and save a trip to the doctor. Why is identifying this so important? Because unidentified strep throat can lead to complications like rheumatic fever, damaged heart valves and/or inflamed kidneys.
Most sore throats are viral.  Antibiotics are useless against viruses.  Being able to test for strep at home can save you a trip and the money of seeing a doctor.
We are usually telling parents about the overuse of antibiotics and how most earaches, colds, and sore throats can be fought off safely without antibiotics. ‘Antibiotics are effective in relieving symptoms of strep throat only if they are given within 48 to 72 hours after symptoms begin. ’ – WebMD.com. Chinese herbs, by comparison, can treat symptoms at any stage and are effective at fighting infections at any stage. Chinese herbs have also been shown to weaken drug-resistant germs so that antibiotics can once again be effective.

The good news is that it is easy to treat and prevent complications.  It is just important to make sure that it is treated properly with herbs or antibiotics.

How can you tell if you or your child has strep throat?  There are inexpensive home tests available, which you can keep on hand. http://www.cliawaived.com/cf.inventory.htm?action=showinvone&invid=513

Americans are some of the hardest working people on the planet.  We average 49.5 weeks a year of work.  The Japanese work 3.5 weeks less and they have a word for working your self to death: karoshi!  We also work 6.5 weeks more than the British and 12.5 weeks more than the Germans.  It has not always been this way.  In 1970 we worked less than the French.  Today they produce more per hour and work fewer hours.  That almost sounds like some sort of Utopian myth...but it’s real. And if this isn’t enough to have you browsing your vacation possibilities then think about this:  In the 1970’s the American Medical Association, based on Hans Selye’s work, said that ’80-85% of all human disease and illness could be attributed to stress’.

Of the Americans who do take vacations, 19% of them end up canceling or postponing their trips at the last minute because of work. In other words, we gave back 421.5 MILLION paid vacation days, and gave employers $54 BILLION. Women across the nation receive on average 2 fewer days of vacation a year than men.

Countries looking to join the European Union are actually required to give their workers at least 4 weeks paid vacation after one year on the job. On the contrary, Americans do not have the right to a legal vacation – it’s up to the employer, which explains the overwork.

What does this mean for your health?  Stress can easily cause allergies, headaches, stiff neck and shoulders, poor sleep, poor digestion, fatigue, and irritability.  These are the early warning signs that preceed more serious disease.
